I was born at Hialeah Hospital to two native Floridians. My grandfather served as naval aviator in WWII, and both my grandmother and father were actively involved in South Florida politics in the 70s (you can still find her “Letters to the Editor” in the Miami Herald’s archives). I was one of the first legally homeschooled students in the state of Florida, and our family eventually moved up to Cape Canaveral during my teenage years. I attended Rollins College for my first year of undergraduage studies, then transferred to Clearwater Christian College the following year. I met my wife of twenty-four years, Corey, at Christian camp, and we were married and headed off to seminary after I graduated. We eventually moved back into the area and she finished her degree in philosophy at UCF months before our first son was born. I later attended St. John’s Graduate Institute (A’09) where I learned to think well about the Western tradition including civics before moving to Winter Springs where we planted Trinity Presbyterian Church in 2019. I have served as a pastor for over 20 years, run an automotive IT company as my day job, and enjoy life with my wife, four wonderful young adults, and our friends in Winter Springs.
Why am I running for Winter Springs City Commission’s District 4 seat this November? Because our city, and especially my neighborhood which includes the Highlands, needs better leadership; leadership that is clear-minded, fiscally conservative, has a track-record of creative and critical problem solving, and understands how to lead by example within the great democratic tradition of our United States. I have a proven track record in business, community leadership, and my personal life that make me the best candidate for the job of representing District 4.
